What Includes Endodontic Therapy ?
Endodontic therapy includes Root canal treatment or RCTs done in infected tooth pulp.
- Any Periapical infection,
- Tooth with positive tender on percussion or
- Grossly decayed tooth can undergo Endodontic therapy.
The aim is to remove all the necrotic pulp tissues from the inside of the tooth and replace it with rubber like biocompatible material to re-establish the whole form of the tooth. The whole procedure is done under local anesthesia so that the patient has no pain during the therapy. It takes around 3 appointments for completing the whole procedure on average but can even be done in a single sitting appointment as long as the tooth has no pain.
